Not sure what you need? Just describe it.

Tell it the building, the floors, and what is wrong — dirty glass, a leaking joint, render falling, an AC unit to hang. It works out the job and prices it from the same rate card as the calculator below.

What will the facade cost?

A whole facade by area and specification, or the individual jobs you actually need. Rope access is priced by the technician-day and the surface, never by the scaffold, and every figure comes from one rate card with its source beside it.

Basic is a wash-down and clean. Luxury adds a full soft-wash with sealant inspection. Super Luxury and Ultimate are coating, painting and repair specifications, and come out as a range because the condition of the facade decides the number.

Describe the building.
We'll work it out.

A photo of the facade from the street, the number of floors, or just a sentence. It asks what it needs, then prices what the rate card covers — and says plainly what waits for a survey.

Tell me about the building — how many floors, roughly how much facade, what it is made of — and what needs doing to it.

Attach a photo of the facade and it will say what the work involves and what the access looks like. Files are passed straight to the assistant and never stored. Answers come from this site's own rate card. Rope-access work in Malta is mostly quoted after a survey, and it will say so rather than guess.

How Rope Access Malta works

Facade work in Malta has always meant scaffolding: weeks of tube on the pavement, a permit from the council, a hoarding, and a bill that was mostly access rather than work. Rope access replaces the scaffold with two technicians on twin ropes, on site in a morning, off by the afternoon. We run it as a contractor: a survey, an itemised quote, IRATA-certified technicians, and someone accountable for the joint that still leaks. You deal with us; we deal with the ropes.

Certified for the height.
Verified for the work.

Rope access has its own discipline: IRATA, the industry's international association, certifies technicians at three levels, requires every job to run with two independently anchored ropes per person, a minimum team of two, a Level 3 supervisor and a rescue plan, and logs every hour. Malta's Work Equipment Regulations, S.L. 646.24, write the same two-rope, self-locking, rescue-ready rule into law. Every technician on a job of ours holds a current IRATA certificate.

Certification says someone can hang safely. CheckYourTraders verification says the work they do up there is good — identity, insurance and track record checked, reviews from real customers, and a right of reply. Every technician we use has both, and we are the contractor who answers for the job.

Tell us what you do and where you work. When a job comes up that fits, we will put you in front of it.

We read every one. Verification through CheckYourTraders comes first; nobody goes on a job of ours without it.

Frequently asked questions

What is rope access?
Industrial abseiling: technicians on two independently anchored ropes, one working line and one safety line each, reaching a facade from the roof instead of from a scaffold or a cherry picker. It was developed offshore and is governed by the IRATA international code of practice. It is faster to set up, leaves nothing on the pavement, and is priced by the technician-day and the surface rather than by weeks of scaffold hire.
Is it safe?
Under the IRATA code every technician has two ropes, every team has at least two people with a Level 3 supervisor, and a rescue plan is written into every method statement. Malta's own rules say the same: S.L. 646.24 requires at least two separately anchored ropes, a self-locking device on the working rope, tools tethered, and the job planned and supervised so a worker can be rescued immediately. The Occupational Health and Safety Authority found fall protection non-compliant on about a quarter of the construction sites it inspected in 2025, which is the record rope access exists to beat.
How much does rope access cost in Malta?
Rope-access firms in Malta quote rather than publish, so the calculator carries the published figures it can stand behind and marks the rest as quoted after survey. The honest comparison is with scaffolding: a scaffold is priced per square metre per week plus a permit and a hoarding, and it stays up for the duration; a rope team is priced per team-day and is gone the same afternoon. The site survey gives you both numbers side by side.
Why is the minimum team two people?
Because rescue is part of the method. If a technician is injured or stuck on the rope, the second technician performs the rescue; a single person on a rope has nobody. The IRATA code requires it, and so does any competent method statement.
Who commissions facade work on an apartment block?
The facade is a common part under the Condominium Act, so the administrator commissions it and the cost is shared between the owners in the proportions in the deed. We survey with the administrator and quote to the condominium, and the invoice is one document for the meeting.
Do you need a permit?
Rope access needs no permit for the access itself, which is the point — nothing is placed on a public pavement or road. Scaffolding in a street needs the Local Council's authorisation under S.L. 441.04, at €2.33 per square metre per day plus a deposit of up to €116.47 and a community officer where traffic is affected. Work that changes the facade's appearance, or any work on a scheduled building or in an urban conservation area, may need the Planning Authority regardless of how it is reached.
What can you actually do from a rope?
Clean glass, stone and cladding; paint and apply coatings; cut out and replace sealant; repair render, stone and concrete; investigate and fix leaks; fit air-conditioning units, gutters, signage, netting and bird-proofing; inspect and photograph the facade; and install anchors for the next time. What a rope cannot reach — a facade with no roof access, or heavy elements — the survey says so.
Do you work on hotels and offices?
Yes, and outside opening hours where needed. A hotel or commercial building carries an uplift on the card for the access constraints and the working hours.
Do you cover Gozo?
Yes. Teams from the same verified network, and the ropes travel in a van.
How do I get started?
